Story
The Duxford Soapbox Derby was established in 2013 to raise money for Cancer Research UK in memory of Phill Hill. The main event is a wonderful chaotic dash around the village by would be grand prix stars racing in anything from a wheelbarrow to an old iron bath. Sadly we were unable to run the event in 2020 due to the coronavirus restrictions, but we are determined to return better than ever in 2021! Lots of charities including CRUK have seen their finances take a hit over the last 12 months as many fundraising events were unable to go ahead as usual. With this in mind several members of the soapbox committee have signed up to walk 10000 steps a day every day in March to try and raise a bit of extra money for Cancer Research UK. Any money raised here will be included in this years Duxford Soapbox Derby total so if you are able to spare a pound or two to sponsor us that would be brilliant.
