Story
In the past cancer has hit our family and friends hard. We have lost loved ones and good friends. We have been fortunate, in that some of our family members and friends have battled the disease receiving intense treatment and making full recoveries. On the other hand we still have friends battling the disease. We know we are not the only family that have a history of this horrid disease but as a family we have each other. As you can imagine these causes are very close to our hearts and we want to make a contribution to say thank you to the staff who battle the disease in all roles, research, treatment, intense care and support, a shoulder to lean on, and not forgetting the fantastic work the hospice’s do for the patients and families. Last year we walked 26.4 miles through the night starting at 8pm and finishing at 5am and raised a massive £3,195 This year we have decided to take it a little easier and do The Race for Life Pretty Muddy Run, which is a 5k trek across obstacles and as the name suggests a lot of mud. We don’t expect to raise as much as last year and are aware there are lots of requests for money and support: however, we would greatly appreciate any money you can spare for this fantastic and worthwhile cause.
