Story

The DSL Cricket Girls have decided to take on the Shine Walk in Manchester and complete a half marathon (13.1 miles!) to raise money for an incredible cause. What started as a “this would be fun!” idea has quickly become a real challenge – but we’re doing it together. We’re used to supporting from the boundary rope, organising, cheering, and being part of the team spirit behind the scenes. This time, we’re swapping the sidelines for walking shoes and pushing ourselves out of our comfort zones. Why are we doing it? Because we wanted to: • Do something that challenges us • Raise money for a cause that makes a real difference • Show that teamwork isn’t just about what happens on the pitch • And yes… have a laugh along the way too! Walking 13.1 miles is no small task. There will probably be sore feet, tired legs and a few “why did we sign up for this?!” moments. But we’ll keep each other going – just like we always do. Every mile we walk through Manchester will be for those affected, for families, for hope, and for progress. That’s what makes the challenge worth it. If you’re able to donate, we’d be so grateful.
