I’m taking part in the Shine Night Walk to honour and celebrate the life of my beloved son David. Amie is walking with me to celebrate the life of her ‘broski’. David loved his life! And his friends and family around the world loved him! But David had the condition neurofibromatosis type 1, and just over a year ago he died from a rare cancer as a result of that condition. He had just celebrated his 30th birthday. My husband Colin and I decided that we would do 30 things to celebrate the 30 years that we were blessed to have David with us, and this is one of those 30 events. In the words of one of his special friends David was ‘a computer genius, a fan of obscure anime, an avid reader and surgically attached to his trademark leather jacket’ (see photo!!).
