Story

This October 15th I, my son Greg and my Daughter in Law Joanne will be taking on the challenge of a 10km twilight walk across the busy streets of Manchester in the hope of raising some much needed money for Cancer Research UK. Greg and I took part in this fantastic event last year following my diagnoses of Bowel Cancer 11 months prior, and with your generosity we managed to raise over £2,000, something we are incredibly proud of! So this year we decided to make it a full team event. This charity has helped me immensely during my diagnosis and on-going treatment over the past 22 months, without the fantastic Doctors and Nurses I have met along the way this could have been a very different journey for me. Whilst I hope the next 12 months may personally bring some improvements and further treatment, I am only too aware that for many people touched by cancer this is not a possibility. For those effected by cancer either themselves or family and friends, I would like to raise more money for life savings treatments, early diagnoses, symptom awareness and emotional support. I would like to take this opportunity to give back to a charity which has helped me along the way and still proves to do so.
