Story
Thank you for visiting this Fundraising Page. The money we raise will help fund life-saving research and to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Myself and a group of 19 lads will be under taking a 22 mile challenge walk in the Yorkshire Dales on 29th June this year. This means dragging ourselves up a total of height that is more than 10 times the height of Lincoln Cathedral and traipsing across moor and bog, all the while battling whatever weather mother nature has to throw at us. This is no small undertaking and with some training, hopefully everyone will make it round on the day. Our little slog on the hills however cannot compare to the struggle people face when diagnosed with Cancer. We have seen first hand what this horrible disease can do. It eats people up and destroy families. Those that survive are left scarred physically and mentally. Cancer is a horrible, slow disease and the treatments available, whilst they get steadily better year-by-year, are almost as physically destructive as the cancer itself. My mum has survived it but other friends and family members have not been so lucky. I'm sure when you start looking about you will know of someone who is, or has, suffered the pain of cancer in one of it's many forms. Worse still, the statistics say 1 in 2 of us may get diagnosed with a form of cancer at some point in our lifetime!! So please, dig deep for the 20 of us that will struggle round 22 miles of hill and dale, across moor and bog on 29th June to try and help stamp out cancer that our friends family, or even one of us may suffer or be suffering from. Or please give in the memory of those that have already lost that fight. Any gesture is fully appreciated and greatly recieved. Thank you, Steve and the boys
