Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work. My story: Living with Cancer Over the last 10 years of having bowel cancer I've come to realise my life is about living with cancer. Coming to this realisation has made me appreciate life. The simple things like the colours of the changing seasons make me stop, breathe and take in their beauty; I make sure I spend time with the people I love, doing the things I love; I'm trying new things....basically I'm enjoying life. This is what living with cancer has done to me. Don't get me wrong, I do have my dark days, especially around scans and oncology appointments but family and friends keep me going. I guess it has made me re-evaluate my life and sort out what's important and what isn't. As a consequence my husband, eldest son and his partner and my youngest son have all been roped in to do this 10k run as a family affair. I HAVE 2 NEW TEAM MEMBERS MY 80 YEAR OLD DAD 🥰 AND MY SISTER 😍
