Story
This a cause very close to my heart and my reason for wanting to raise money for cancer research. I was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer in August 2019, have had 2 lots of surgery , 12 weeks worth of weekly chemotherapy, am currently receiving a targeted drug therapy called herceptin and will continue on a hormone drug for 10 years. I am one of the lucky ones, as my breast cancer was caught early but if it wasn’t for a lump in my left breast ,would never have known. I know its been said a million times before ladies BUT check your bobbies. Cancer does not discriminate and YES it could even happen to YOU!! Myself and a few of my oldest and dearest friends will be running the 10k race for life , this will be a challenge for me ,as running has been off my agenda for a number of months . Amelia, Sam and their friends Holly and Maisy will be taking part in the Pretty Muddy to raise money for this wonderful charity too on the Saturday. Money is truly needed to continue the work of cancer research , especially for triple negative breast cancer and secondary cancers . My mum is one of the survivors after being diagnosed 18 years ago and has been a constant source of support throughout my journey and provides the reassurance that life does go on after cancer. Right thats it for now except to say .....Let’s do this girls !!!! Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
