Story
Hi everyone, We would really love it if you could all help support me, my family and friends in our 5k Race for Life to help raise money for Cancer Research UK in honour of our beautiful mum, nanny, sister and friend Christine. In December 2017 mum struggled with stomach pains, a loss of appetite and feeling very bloated. In January 2018 the doctor referred her on to have multiple tests at the hospital thinking that it would be something minor. By February 2018, after just 2 months of tests and appointments the hospital discovered via CT scan that Mum had a lump in her liver which was pancreatic cancer that had already spread to her liver and lymph nodes. Words will never explain the feeling of sitting beside my mum in that hospital room hearing that she had that horrible word we all dread...Cancer! Even despite mums positivity, the cancer was not curable and she was told that she could have chemo but it would only prolong her life span. After just having 1 Chemo session in the March, mum quickly became extremely unwell. Within just a few short weeks mum was transferred out of hospital and straight to Countess Mountbatten House. By May 2018 Mum sadly lost her life to Cancer. We know everyone has their own individual story but hers was just so fast we had no idea that in just 3 months we would have to live our lives without her. The shock of how fast it happened is something we will never get over. Not a day goes by that we don’t miss her or think about her. She was loved by everyone and did everything for everyone else and put herself last. She has left a massive hole in our hearts and is the missing piece of our family puzzle. We can’t get her back but we can try our hardest to make a difference to others by raising money for Cancer research. Please will you help us to raise as much as possible by donating something, even if it’s a small amount we will all appreciate it. Thank you xxxxxx
