Story
Having completed Race for Life twice with Becca, my beautiful and amazing BFF, I didn't imagine the third time I would be running would be under such different circumstances. In November 2017, I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer and began Chemotherapy one week before Christmas. I saw in the New Year with hair on my head and a slightly lumpy right breast. By the time race day arrives, I will have completed Chemotherapy, will hopefully be sporting a rather fetching pixie hair cut and will be saying goodbye to my killer boobie a week afterwards. Life continues with Cancer. I am a Daughter, I am a Mummy, I am a Wife, I am a Sister and I am an Auntie. Friends have called me a range of other things since the news broke of my journey; inspirational, wonder woman, brave, I just call myself Char. Some good has to come from this and I will continue my fight for the future triple negative warriors. I am already part of a trial for new medications and research. I have shared my journey openly with all who have asked to help break down the barriers around cancer and the treatment involved, I have shared my journey on Facebook and I will continue to do so and raise awareness of Breast Cancer and Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Through all of this, I have done it with positivity and pride and a smile on my face. Now it is your opportunity to help to so I'm handing the challenge over to you.
