Story
So this is my story! I'm fighting for the happy ending. I'm a mum of a 7 year old and a 3 year-old. I was 31 when diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. I had already lost both parents to breast and brain cancer when I was 16. My mum only lasted 2 years after being diagnosed. My whole world feel apart when I was diagnosed and I realised it was time to try and change the story and not let wot happened to me happen to my children. I got signed up to a trial and I have completed 16 cycles of chemo with the help from my amazing team. I had to fight for a double mastectomy as I was not braca gene. Even tho with more research there could be 100 more different braca genes. But they just don't have the money. This is why I have decided to do the race for life. I am 5 days past a double mastectomy and I think it time I started paying back for the help I have had and so other people don't have to go through this. I still have radiotherapy and my trials drug to go but I will do anything to not miss things like my goals of taking my daughter to her 1st day at school. Watching my son play his rugby games. Also to bug the hell out of my surportive husband for at least another 40 year. Triple negative cancer is one of the most aggressive cancers it's not fussy who it has and dosent respond to homones and stuff its also likes to come back. Its only recently being looked into. I'm honoured and privileged to be on a trial. But if they don't have the money then they can't do the research. Cancer has tried to take everything from me. But it can have my hair, my eyebrows, my tears and my boobs. But it can't have my smile, humour and my love for life. (Ps I think I'm really funny) I want to change the story to the happy ending.
