In April 2018, having fought metastatic breast cancer for 4 years, Lisa’s health very suddenly and rapidly declined. We tragically lost Lisa from our lives on 19 April. Lisa was one in a million, she was one of the very best people we knew, someone whose strength and courage all admired. A devoted wife and Mummy, Lisa never let her ongoing treatment get in the way of her enjoying her life to the max with her family and friends. Where many would likely have hidden under their duvet, Lisa stared cancer straight in the eye and told it categorically that it could “do one” - she was a bit bossy like that... So we are not walking the Shine Marathon because we are sad those who love Lisa have lost her. We are walking this marathon to celebrate the strength, courage and sheer stubbornness this amazing lady had when faced with cancer.
