Cancer research has been massively affected during the pandemic, funding budgets have been reduced and clinical trials have been put on hold. Cancer Research UK usually funds around 50% of all publicly funded cancer research in the UK and they predict their income will fall by 30% this financial year. This cause is particularly close to home for CCR as during lockdown one of our teammates was diagnosed with cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. We are joining forces with her awesome support group, the Shitty Titty Committee, to Race for Life and raise some vital funds for Cancer Research UK. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
