Many moons ago when we were younger, fitter and not in bed by 9pm every night, a netball team was formed. Dakotas or as we liked to call ourselves, “The Mighty Dakotas”. For many years we played come rain, wind or shine. Cazza was the captain and led us to many a victory. We became firm friends over the years, knowing far too much about each other for that to now change! Over the years we have seen each other through some pretty tough times - from the loss of parents and pets to IVF journeys, cancer scares and just having bleugh moments. Throughout this though, whenever we see each other, the evening is always filled with love and laughter. One of the battles we continue to fight is Cazza’s cancer - it’s a tricky one, there’s no doubt. This big C has withstood operations, an abundance of chemotherapy as well as some proper radiotherapy pounding but we still know it’s no match for these Mighty Dakotas. We will be running (maybe walking/ crawling/ being dragged) the Pretty Muddy 5K obstacle challenge to raise vital funds for Cancer Research. Please dig deep and help us beat this truly awful disease.
