Story
All of us running this race have been touched one way or another by Cancer. Mine was watching my Mam go through 2 years of being diagnosed 4 times in different places. Watching somebody you love being battered by this disease is heart wrenching, the treatment is not kind but it does work for the lucky ones. The last diagnosis was the worst and changed Mam's speach. Not that you would know what she has gone through when speaking to her. She is the bravest woman I have ever met in my life. She kept her sense of humour and never once complained about any of it. It absolutely broke my heart to watch her go through the treatment, the relief at each check up on her face made me so thankful. So the reason I am doing this is to raise as much money as possible for research, without it my Mam would not have had the treatment she had. There is still a long way to go in the research, hopefully one day there will be a cure, but until then we do what we can to raise more money.
