Story
To those who know my Family and I, we sadly lost my father, uncle and friend Paul Bowkett, to a rare cancer of the stomach on 1st December 2016. In Janurary 2016, Dad was diagnosed with linitis plastica of the stomach. He fought harder than anyone can imagine, I remember his fight with pride and humility, I couldn’t be prouder of him. We thank all those who worked with my father - consultants, doctors, nurses and many more, the professionality of the system was overwhelming. However, sadly the cancer was too aggressive and he could not win the battle. Dad was known for being larger than life. He had such an enthusiasm, lust and love for living. He enjoyed working and playing hard, he loved his wife, his family and his friends. He was taken too early from us all. Research into this disease is more important than ever. 1 in 2 people are diagnosed with Cancer, and whilst this figure is terrifyingly high it doesn’t ease the difficulty of dealing with the loss. The more money we raise for Cancer Research the higher the likelihood of saving many from the pain and heartbreak which my father, myself, my family and many others have been through. So on the 1st July Lianne, Emma, Katie K and I will be running as a team, Kingston and Kempton 10K. Please help us raise funds for my father. Thank you, and big love to all! X
