Story
Hi, my names Billie and I’m 17 years old. I did the race for life last year and raised about £2000 for cancer research. About a year and half ago my mum got diagnosed with cervical cancer. My mum was having chemotherapy and radiotherapy and things were beginning to look up. After we thought my mum was cancer free the doctors had found something that wasn’t right in her lungs. My mum underwent surgery to remove a part of the cancer and had to have more chemo to get rid of the other cancer in her lungs but this time she would loose her hair because of the type of chemotherapy that it was. At this point I was in year 11 completing my GCSE’s. At the beginning of 2018 my mum began struggling with everyday life, she would get out of breath easy but she still never complained once and still put everyone before herself. Towards the end of March my mum got taken in to hospital because she was struggling to breath. Unfortunately 5 days after she had been taken in to hospital, my mum passed away on the 30th of March 2018. It’s been a difficult few weeks but I’m here to make my mum proud. Anything donated will be massively appreciated. Thank you for the support xxx
