Story
I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in May 2020. If you have to have cancer, NHL is preferable to many others as it’s not just treatable, it’s curable - thanks to amazing research over the past 50 years. I am one of the lucky ones. Other incurable cancers are happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life to raise money and save lives. Let’s make ALL cancers curable! It was thanks to attempting a 5k run that (for the first time ever) I couldn’t complete, that made me go to my GP & fully investigate why I couldn’t breathe, turned out to be a 17cm tumour in my chest, squashing most of one of my lungs. So it seems fitting to join a 5k race, celebrate my return to fitness & raise some money to give something back to the research I’ve been so fortunate to benefit from. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work. Please give as generously as you can.
