Cancer is happening right now, which is why we are taking part in a Race for Life to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work. What once felt like just a workplace has become something much more—a group of friends looking out for one another through some really tough times. Ali, one of our close colleagues and friends in the Radiology department, has been diagnosed with cancer. Hearing news like that about someone so young—someone you see every day, laugh with, and spend time with—is incredibly difficult. Sadly, she is not the first. Others in our team have faced cancer and gone through treatment, and we’ve seen firsthand how challenging that journey can be. Through it all, one thing has stood out: the strength of the friendships within our team. People have come together to support one another, offering kindness, encouragement, and simply being there when it matters most. It’s a reminder that we are more than coworkers—we’re a department that truly cares. Now, we want to do something more for Ali as she begins this fight. We’re raising funds to support her, as well as others who have faced a cancer diagnosis—to contribute to vital research and to show them they’re not alone. Any support would mean the world. At its heart, this is simply friends helping a friend when they need it most.
