Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why we are taking part in a Race for Life to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work. We are both running the Race for Life in memory of our grandmother who passed away from Lymphoma in 2004. We are also running for a slightly more distant family member who is currently having chemotherapy for liver cancer, as well as our mother who had skin cancer which was removed in 2012. Alice is also running in memory of her classmate who passed away from a rare brain cancer in 2018 aged just 16. Shona is also running in memory of her partner’s grandfather who passed away last year from a form of asbestos cancer. We want to raise money for cancer research so that potential cures can be found to fight this horrible disease and to help prevent others from being taken too soon. When someone close to you loses their battle your life changes; there’s a hole that takes a long time to heal and you will never stop missing them.
