We're raising as much as we can to beat cancer

Story

Meet Adam. Bright boy who will be 11 on Monday 5th August. He will spend this day at Lochranza Ward, Royal Hospital For Children and Young People, Edinburgh. He's a big fan of football, training at Blackburn United FC (West Lothian). We have found out what is happening only because he got a foot injury. On 7th May 2024 his (and all the family) life turned upside down. We received a diagnosis of large cell anaplastic lymphoma. Treatment takes initially 6 chemotherapy cycles, 5 days in hospital and 16 days recovery. Visits in hospital are more frequent though as [due to the medication he's on] Adam's immune system doesn't exist and he catches infections very easily. He doesn't go to school, doesn't meet his friends very often, doesn't live like a boy at his age would do. Cancer changed his body and mind. Myself and Adam's sister, Adriana decided to do 10km Shine Night Walk in Glasgow on 31st August. We would like to raise the funds to help find cancers, especially children's cancers, quicker and to treat them more efficiently and comfortably for these wee warriors. Avery pound matters hence we do not set up a target. We do hope though that together we can reach some decent amount. Cancer is happening right now, which is why we're fundraising right now for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose! Donate today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Donating through these pages is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK.
