Story
Having seen first hand the huge advances in care and treatment made in the 6 years since my own diagnosis , progress is being made however slowly. Cancer research helps with valuable lifesaving research funding. Due to the effects of COVID-19 - funding has already been cut by £45 million in the UK. Funding research has transformed how people are treated , boosting breast cancer survival rates over the last 40 years through the discovery or the BRCA genes and the development of breast cancer drugs like herceptin. Cancer research has the TRACERx flagship project which studies how lung cancer evolves from diagnosis to relapse. Through funding the cancer research scientists have pioneered a class of drugs known as PARP inhibitors- rapidly transforming not just BRCA breast cancer, but ovarian, prostrate and many other types of cancer. We will be walking during the month of March for everyone touched by this disease, and for those we love that are unable to do this challenge for themselves. Taking every step towards finding a cure, and being fortunate enough to be surrounded by great friends and family along the way. #fuckcancerlovelife Kim, Hélène, Jill and Lindsay xxxx
