My Story
Each year I've jogged/plodded the 5km Race for Life course, the list of brave people who I know who have thankfully survived, continue to live with, or who have passed away from the dreadful illness that is cancer, grows before my eyes. I take part in the Race for Life events for all of these people, my family and friends, and for the future of my children. This year is a little different. I was very deeply affected by the sad death of a friend from school, Sarah, who fought so hard and stayed so positive but lost her battle with cancer earlier this year. When I heard she was ill again after a period of remission I vowed to get fitter and brave a 10km Race for Life this time, after all if she could go through everything she went through, I could push myself a bit further too. I didn't manage to get much fitter, however I will indeed be, as cheerfully as I can, dragging myself around a 10km course for the very first time. So once again, if you can dig deep and sponsor me to raise much needed funds for Cancer Research, please do so. Thank you, it means the world to me. Sarah, this one's for you xx
