My Story
Last year was a very sad year for my family, my dad lost his best friend, Pete, to cancer. Pete had always been around whilst I was growing up and I have great memories of him coming to the football with me and my dad. Pete left behind his lovely wife, sons, step sons, beautiful grandchildren and lots of family and friends who thought the world of him. After Pete passed away I searched for a way I could raise money for Cancer Research and saw the shine night walk and decided I would do it in Pete's memory (despite being unfit!) I managed to talk two of my lovely friends into it too who have their own stories as to why they wish to support this amazing charity, together we are 'the three amigos' and we will be keeping eachother going and get to the finish line! Having also lost my Uncle Peter several years ago to cancer and had several family members have treatment and my son's school friend when we was just 4 years old, this charity is very close to my heart. If you can spare a bit of money to sponsor me I would be so grateful. Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there.
