Zoe's Cycle 300 Giving Page
In memory of
everyone who has fought and sadly lost the battle...
1 in every 2 people will get cancer in their lifetime - this statistic is too high. That's me or you, which is scary. And we need to do all we can to beat it. As a family, we lost my Grandad far too soon to oesophageal cancer (he wasn't even a smoker). One of our Nans passed away a couple of years ago, and whilst alive she had fought breast cancer, Our other Nan who is still with us, has had skin cancer and has had this cut away. My work family have also lost a colleague and friend to cancer fairly recently. A battle fought with great courage and dignity, we never saw him without a smile. We have all been affected by cancer in one way or another and I am sure most of us can relate to the oxygen tanks being needed, all the various medication, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, hospital appointments, and being made as comfortable as can be in the hospice. I am no pro cyclist by any means, I just enjoy biking through the country (sometimes stopping at the river for strawberries and a pimms)!... But I will be cycling 300 miles in September to raise awareness of ALL cancer. If we can continue to raise awareness then we can make more informed decisions as to the lifestyle choices we make and around things such as going to the doctor about any concerns. Health is wealth.
