My Story
Many of you know our reasons for supporting Cancer Research. My Mum and Dad fought this terrible disease so bravely and with such dignity, without research my Mum wouldn't have had extra treatment. Without research there wouldn't have been treatment for either of them! We have lost so many loved ones, friends, family, colleagues, nearly everyone has been touched by this disease and without research there will be no treatment or cures. We also know many who have survived who have bravely fought and won! We know there are many people who raise funds for Cancer Research and we support them too, every penny counts no matter who you donate to. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
