Yvonne's Race for Life
Nottingham Pretty Muddy 5k 2018
Sat 8 Sep 2018 - Sat 8 Sep 2018
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life Pretty Muddy to raise money and save lives. I've had two cancer scares in my life. Once when I had a lump removed from my breast shortly after giving birth to my youngest son. They couldn't tell what it was from the biopsy but thankfully it turned out to be benign. And then again when I had to have some pre-cancerous cells removed from my cervix. Both times filled me with fear as my children were very young at the time and you can't help but think the worst and make plans in your head. Waiting to find out results from tests is agonising and I am so thankful that in both cases I was treated by the NHS and made a quick and full recovery. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
