My Story

Welcome to my Sponsorship page! Cancer Research is close to the hearts of many. Therefore, I decided to set myself the personal challenge of taking part in the 10k 'Race for Life' this year firstly, in order to fundraise for this charity & secondly, just because I can! Having lost 6 stone in weight over the past months by being determined to become healthier, fitter & of course slimmer, I was keen to challenge myself further and this time, do something for others. I have been inspired to raise funds because of the impact cancer has had on so many people I know. Family and friends have lost loved ones, some are currently fighting this disease and some have survived! Therefore, as they have been so massively important to my positivity, I am doing this for them! 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound donated makes a difference to Cancer Research UK's ground breaking work, so any support you can give me will mean so much. I'm excited to say "I can run", well... it's more of a jog, but after training for a number of weeks and continuing up until the big day, just one month away on Sunday, 9th July, I will do this race for life. I'll be running, jogging and walking and with your support, together, WE can help to beat cancer. Thank you so much. Yvonne x
