Walking 23 miles in 12 hours to raise money for lung cancer

My Story

So, for those of you who don't know, my mum, my best friend, has recently been diagnosed with stage 2 lung cancer. Typing that out is something I had never thought I would have had to have done, but if it's one thing cancer doesn't give a fuck about, it's who it affects. It's safe to say that it has devestated all of us, its been a rough few weeks but we, and more importantly my mum, are taking it day by day and in our stride. Anyone that knows my mum knows she is the light of so many lives, brings laughter and happiness to everyone that has the pleasure of knowing her, and would never let anything as silly as this get the best of her. Thankfully, she's doing well (as anyone that knows the tough old bird would know) and it's looking like surgery is the only thing that will be needed but getting the news has spurred me and my brothers on to help as much as we can. To do our part for our mum and everyone else affected by this awful disease, we're going on a 23 mile hike across three of Yorkshires peaks! Starting at 6am, we'll be hiking across all 3 within 12 hours. I think it's pretty telling that anything strenuous has never been a speciality of mine but christ, if there's anyone I'd do this for it's her.
