October is breast cancer awareness month and over 70 Bawtry Businesses are joining in the mission to turn Bawtry pink to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer for Cancer Research UK. Each business has agreed to turn their business fronts pink by getting creative as well as completing their own in house fundraising. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK with 56,400 women diagnosed with breast cancer and 390 men each year. The good news is that 76% or people now survive but we need to know the signs and be aware of how to check ourselves. Early detection is key. So this October the Bawtry community is coming together driven by SiSi Events who is hosting the Bring your Breastie, ladies event at Bawtry Hall on 4th October, and the aptly named BRA (Bawtry Retail Association) who work together to promote Bawtry to the local and wider community . Pop along to Bawtry this October and help us all spread the awareness and raise valuable funds for kinder breast cancer treatments for Cancer Research UK

Breast cancer
With almost 140 women diagnosed every day, breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. And, although rarer, around 350 men are also diagnosed with breast cancer every year. The good news is more than two-thirds of women now survive 20 years or more. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to diagnose and treat the disease.
