My Story
After breaking his back in 2001, my dad sadly found out he had cancer. He was diagnosed with myeloma, which unfortunately meant it would never be cured but could be treated. At this stage the treatments he has go to through were successful in treating the cancer. A few years later the cancer sadly came back. Throughout his battle with cancer he was so brave and strong and went through numerous treatments including courses of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and stem cell transplant. Over these years Alaw Ward in Ysbyty Gwynedd became a second home. After going through numerous treatments to treat the cancer he had weekly hospital appointments. The nurses and doctors were so caring and hard working. Then in 2014 he was diagnosed with another form of cancer, mesothelioma. By the time the doctors discovered it was mesothelioma, it was at stage 4. In August 2014, after just 8 short weeks from diagnosis; he passed away. He was the strongest and bravest man that we know after everything he had to go through. We all know someone who's sadly been affected by cancer and nobody should ever have to go through it; the hurt and suffering it causes is absolutely heartbreaking. We're hoping to raise some money for a great cause and we wish one day a cure will finally be found. If anybody would be so kind and like to donate any money to our Cancer Research Fundraiser page, no matter how little, we be ever so ever so grateful :) In memory of of amazingly brave and strong dad, husband, son and brother and uncle. We miss you so so much and love you more than words could ever describe. ❤️
