My Story

This year as part of the Boarding Charity Committee run by Miss Smith we have chosen as one of our target's/focus to participate in Cancer Research UK's Race for Life. Running in our TEAM is: Miss Smith, Mrs Doyle, Shauna, Annabel, Charlotte, Nana, Claudine, Weyinmi, Minetta, Layifa, Liana, Lauren, Hind, Naomi, Maria, Blanca, Alexia, Paula, Lucia, Laura and Jess. Everyone we know has been affected by some sort of Cancer. Here are some of our stories below: Miss Smith: This year I am doing the Race for Life again.....in memory of two amazing women. My Aunt, Donna, and Momma J. Both were taken too soon, but if it wasn't for this amazing charity we wouldn't have had the precious last months that we had with each of them. Shauna: My Grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 and without the help and support from this amazing charity her recovery would not have been as successful as it was. Naomi: I am running in memory of my Grandmothers. Who both passed away from breast cancer. I am looking forward to getting muddy! Jess: I am running to support everyone who is struggling or has had cancer. So........... The Wellington Academy Staff, Family, Friends and the Community, please join the fight by digging deep and sponsoring The Wellesley Boarding Girls- it's quick, easy and totally secure. We're training every week. Keep an eye out for our photo uploads! Events like this are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work in preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer.
