My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I’m raising money right now for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose! Donate to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. My Story During lockdown like a lot of other people I put on quite a lot of weight due to too many take away and not enough exercise. So, one day I just decided to do something about it and started running. I have now been running for several years mainly between 5-15km several times a week , so I am probably fitter than I have been for a decade or two. When I received an email about running for charity, I decided to enter the Hackney half marathon on behalf of Cancer Research UK it seemed only logical to chose a charity that was personal to me and my family. Most people in the UK are affected by cancer at some point in their life and I am no exception. My nephew Luke was only 4 years old when he was diagnosed with non- Hodgkin’s lymphoma and spent several months in Great Ormond street hospital in 2012. Fortunately, he has made a full recovery. Also my nan passed away from Bladder Cancer in 1999. Thank you for viewing my page and any donation however small would be welcome for this worthwhile cause.
