My Story
I, along with my dad and our good friends Teddy Newnham, Darren Little, Jenson Little and Claire Byrd for 2 of the 3 days, will be walking from the Amex Stadium in Falmer to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London. This journey will cover nearly 60 miles, and we won't be able to complete it in a single day. Therefore, we plan to set off on May 23rd, two days before the actual match. We're raising funds for Cancer Research UK in memory of our dear friend Leighton, who was Teddy's and my friend, and Jenson's brother. Tragically, Leighton lost his battle with cancer in 2022 at just 15 years old. All of us are passionate Brighton fans, attending almost every home and away game, and it saddens us to think that Leighton would have been joining us on those early morning trains to Manchester and Newcastle, or just the bus to the Prince Albert or Caxton before a home game. This is why we chose to walk to an Albion game in his honor. A huge shoutout to my dad and Darren, who will be completing the entire journey with us; without their support, this walk would be much more challenging. Since Teddy and I announced this initiative, we have been overwhelmed by the incredible support we've received. It's heartening to see such solidarity within the football community for this vital cause. Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared our link, or shown their support—your contributions are crucial for advancing cancer research. Up the Albion, and we’ll see you at Tottenham (after 58 miles)!
