My Story
We all know someone who has been affected by cancer and the impact this has on their lives and the lives of loved ones. Recently, cancer has effected some of the closest people in my life and to see the effect it has had on the individuals, their families and friends has truely been eye opening. Which is why I have decided to dedicate my Great East Run to all those effected by cancer and raise money to help fight the ongoing efforts to beat it once and for all. Originally my intention was simple, complete a half marathon (its been a few years since I have) to show myself I can still do it. As a working father of two, life can get the better of you and your health and wellbeing can take a back seat to the daily grind we all face. WItnessing the events of the last few months has shown me that your health and loved ones is the most important thing and as a father myself, I would love to help Cancer Research create a world in which my children will only read about cancer in history books. I have not set a specific target yet however, your donations will help the fight against cancer no matter how small. If you can only offer £2, then great. The research these guys do may help us all in never having to go through the trials and adversity I have witnessed over the last few months. You can follow my training progress here, on instagram (@walidgram) or on Facebook. Finally, thank you for taking the time to read this and for helping a great cause. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I’m raising money for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose! Donate to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
