My Story
February 2017 my partner and his family were given the devastating news that my Sister in Law had stage 3 bowl cancer. You would never expect a 35 year old mother, partner, daughter and sister to go through what she did. The whole family’s lives were turned upside down. Basildon hospital cared for Jodie and they did amazing! Jodie had major surgery weeks after her diagnosis and was fitted with a stoma and received 6 month of chemotherapy! After a short 10 months which almost felt like a life time for her and the family Jodie is now in remission and completely cancer free!! She has done amazing to fight this and has come out stronger than ever! Jodie will need to undergo another major operation in the near future. Unfortunately for my Nan it was a different story she passed on the 14th October 1997 when she was just 57 leaving behind a husband, son and daughter and grandchildren. What I could remember of her she was a true fighter and loved us so much. She had stomach cancer and she was terminal. The hardest thing as I grow older is not having my Nan there to see us grow up and my Dad not to have his mum. With the support of everyone who donates to Cancer Research is helping to get a little bit closer to finding a cure for this horrendous disease. So please family and friends share the love and donate as much as you can to help beat this together!!! Thank you all Victoria xxxxxx
