My Story
Team Costelloe are taking part in the Great North Run on Sunday 7th September 2025 in Newcastle in aid of Cancer Research UK Team Members: Vickie Costelloe Dave Costelloe Luke Muia Katie Costelloe Amy Crank Wade Crank Our team of 6 have various abilities of running and we are looking forward to raising as much money as possible for a charity close to our hearts. This year’s event is dedicated to Luke Muia’s Uncle who passed away from Cancer in 2024. PERSONAL NOTE FROM LUKE: I’m raising funds in memory of my Uncle Gary, who we sadly lost to EGFR-positive cancer. Gary was more than just an uncle—he was a kind, generous, and warm-hearted man who faced his diagnosis with courage and dignity. His strength and sense of humour remained, even in the most difficult moments. EGFR+ cancer is a specific type of cancer driven by mutations in the EGFR gene. While advances in research have led to promising treatments, there is still so much more we need to understand—and so many more lives we can save through continued research and innovation. By supporting this fundraiser, you’re helping to fund vital cancer research aimed at improving treatments, extending lives, and one day finding a cure. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. This is for my Uncle Gary—and for everyone still fighting. Thank you for your support. Support Team Costelloe! We’d be incredibly grateful if you could donate to our team page. Every contribution makes a difference. If you're unable to donate, simply sharing our page with your family and friends would mean the world to us. Thank you for your support!
