I'd like to kick ovarian cancer's butt!

My Story

Last year my mum, who also happened to be my best friend died from a rare form of ovarian cancer. I am still traumatised by the last days of her life and there isn't an hour that passes by when I don't miss her. As she battled her illness, my step dad was diagnosed with bowel cancer, that has spread to his liver and kidney. They both had chemo together and held each others hands through the tough times. He still has us, but I know his own battle with the big C is far harder without my mum by his side. This year ovarian cancer is messing with my friend - and I am not having it! The only way to deal with a bully is to stand up to it. Only research will stop this cruel, waisting, painful disease. I thank God that so many people are already surviving thanks to the work of CRUK. While most of us will never have the ability to discover the workings of a tumour - we can be part of that process, by funding the people who do. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure.
