My Story
I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in December 2023, after finding a lump. Over the past 9 months I have had a course of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, and have had an operation to remove the tumour and some lymph nodes at the beginning of September 2024. I still have a course of radiotherapy to look forward to! I have been phenomenally lucky with the amazing treatment I have received from the NHS, which wouldn’t have been possible without Cancer Research. I completed the Shine Night Walk in London in 2014, so I know how tough it will be (especially after the first 17 miles!). My mantra back then was, “it’s still easier than having cancer”….but now I have cancer, and I still reckon I can do it (18 days after surgery 😂). Please donate so that other people in the future who are unlucky enough to be diagnosed (1 in 2 people) can have the opportunity of the fantastic treatment that I have received (and better), to help save their lives. I am raising money for research into all types of cancer. A few pounds may be the difference in finding a cure for cancer which could affect any of us, or the people we love, at any time.
