My motivation for running is to beat cancer. I hate running though so I don't know why I do it.
My Story
15/12/2008 I lost my grandma to esophageal cancer. It completely turned my world upside down, I didn't know how I was meant to get back to normal and cope without her. Ten years on we've had more people that we run in memory of. If I can raise money to help fund treatment and research, then losing them isn't for nothing. We've raised so much money in the nine years that we've done this, and Ellie has been with us for three of the races (four if you count Bec being an absolute machine and doing a 5K race heavily pregnant). Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
