My Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I'm challenging myself to complete a full-sized self-drafted Hanukkah cardigan in December to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Once completed, I'll also post the pattern for anyone who donated. As most people who know me know, my husband died of cancer a few years ago, and I believe Cancer Research UK funds research that has a real impact on the survival and quality of life of future cancer patients. I was going to knit this silly jumper anyway, so it might as well do some good. I hope if you enjoy my knitting shenanigans you'll consider donating.

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
