My Story

My mother in law or my 2nd mum I should say is currently under going cancer treatment and has recently had stem cell transplant. All of this made possible by organisations like cancer research and modern day medicine! She means the world to us and my kids adore her and the last few months has been really difficult not being able to see her properly. But we know it’s for the best and soon we will be able to hug and kiss again and enjoy a holiday together! That’s why it’s so important to keep supporting cancer research uk! New treatments are being discovered every day and we need to help kick cancers butt!!!! I’m running this Sunday for this amazing cause! Please sponsor me!!! 5 years ago exactly this Sunday we lost someone very special to us. Jane 💛 she really was like a sister to me. We grew up together, she baby sat me as a kid, she took me clubbing for the first time, I was her birthing partner and watched her give birth to her youngest daughter, we holidayed together, worked together, she was always there, every event big or small, every birthday, Christmas, she was the first person as my mums door with flowers and a card to say happy anniversary! Losing her was like losing a child for my mum, we miss her so much, we talk about her almost every day! She left behind two beautiful young daughters, her husband, brothers and sister and lots of nieces and nephews, her parents and grandma! Her heart was so big, she would do anything for anyone! Jane you would light up the room with your presence and you can’t imagine the darkness we felt when you closed your eyes one last time that very sad day 5 years ago! 36 years old, Jane was too young and her life was too short! Please please sponser me, please donate anything you can, every little helps towards this great cause, help families to fight this horrible disease! This race has always had great meaning to me. I lost my Dad in 2009 to cancer after a 5 year battle, and 2 all clears! Although that breaks my heart I am lucky to have had those 5 years! A year of chemotherapy and radiotherapy reduced his throat cancer and meant he was able to get his life back on track after receiving a terminal diagnosis. He was first told he had 3 months to live, but he never gave up! With treatment and support from organisations like cancer research uk he carried on fighting for 5 years. 5 more years with his 3 children, making memories 💛 for this I am so grateful. Please please please sponser me and donate so more people can have the support and treatment and the chance to have more time with loved ones! And maybe even the miracle of an all clear!!! Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
