Vanessa's Race for Life

My Story

Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life Pretty Muddy to raise money and save lives. Hello My name is Vanessa and late 2017 my mam, Audrey was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of Lymphoma,. The news was devastating for her, me and the whole family. Despite the excellent care and treatment she received, at Christmas 2018 she got told "sorry theirs nothing more we can do" they gave my mam 6 months to live she is still fighting with all her might and will be joining me and my sister Natalie Maidment Claire Potts Laura McDonald and Lorraine Mcdonald on the 14thof september in the race for life. Prior to this my mam was very healthy, fit and active and was working full time supporting children as a teaching assistant and youth worker and repeats the heart breaking reality that it can strike anyone at anytime. My mam has remained positive throughout and fighting with the heart of a lion. with this donation, Cancer Research will be able to help countless others in the future and one day end cancer for good.
