My Story

In November last year, our family’s world changed forever. Andrew Lockey — a devoted husband, father, and friend — was diagnosed with a grade 4 glioblastoma, an aggressive and incurable form of brain cancer. Watching someone so full of life face such a cruel diagnosis has been devastating. But from this heartbreak, a new purpose was born: Unlocking Hope. As a proud finalist in Ms Great Britain Classic, I have been given a platform to raise money for cancer research, and I am dedicating my journey to fighting brain cancer in Andrew’s honour. Together with my sister Ella — Andrew’s wife and a woman showing unimaginable strength — we founded Unlocking Hope. Named as a play on Andrew’s surname, Lockey, it represents our mission to unlock a future filled with hope, even in the face of the hardest battles. Brain tumours remain one of the most underfunded areas of cancer research, despite their devastating impact. We are determined to change that — not just for Andrew, but for Ella, for their beautiful daughters Lois and Etta, and for every family affected by this disease. Unlocking Hope is more than just a campaign. It’s a legacy. It’s about empowering Lois and Etta to grow up knowing they are part of something bigger — a movement rooted in love, courage, and the unwavering belief that hope can and will unlock a brighter future. Our dream is that one day, Lois and Etta will proudly continue this mission, honouring their incredible Daddy and their brave Mummy by helping others and keeping their story alive. We invite you to join us on this journey. Together, we can unlock hope — and with hope, we can change the future. Thank you for believing in this cause, for Andrew, for Ella, for Lois and Etta, and for every family still waiting for a cure.
