Uncle Colin

Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I’m fundraising right now for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose! My beloved Uncle was taken from me on the 2nd November 2012. I couldn't bring myself to do anything for the entire following year, life seemed meaningless, and I hated the fact that everyone around seemed to continue on with life, when my whole world had been turned upside down, sadly the one person I always went to for help, advice and support was no longer there, but thanks to the support of a good friend eventually I came to terms with what had happened. My Uncle was a huge fan of the game Dragon age, and he and I would regularly play after school and during holiday times, hence the banner on this page. My Uncle and I actually joined a gym together the very first time either of us stepped foot into a gym back when I was 15, he always took care of himself, healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle, which is why when the news came it all hit us hard as it does with everyone I'm sure. My Uncle was a huge inspiration for my fitness upkeep, which is why it really upset me when I put on a lot of weight after Uncle Colin passed away. It took me a couple years and a lot of training to get back in fighting form. This Sprint is for my uncle who I know would have loved to run it with me. My Uncle Colin was such an enormous part of my life we did almost everything together he will forever be missed. I am running this Spartan sprint in the hopes of raising money and awareness for Oesophageal cancer as it seems to be one of the worst types you can suffer from.
