My Story

Once again, Baz and I, as registered Supporters of Cancer Research UK for 11 years, co-ordinated another fundraising campaign. We do this in memory of Rog Wells, my late husband and Baz's mate. We invited retailers, businesses, schools and local groups to take part in our 'TURN SILEBY AND QUORN PINK & BLUE' event from 1st to 16th September 2026 supporting Cancer Research UK. Those who took part, certainly threw themselves into the fundraising spirit. It's such a lovely way to bring the village communities together, for something so worthwhile. It was a resounding success. We are still collecting fundraising money in, but hope to have the final total by the end of September or beginning of October. Members of the public have also donated to our fundraising page in memory of a loved one, as a tribute to those fighting cancer or as a survivor of Cancer. We can't thank you all enough for your support 👏👏👏 Donate to our page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Thanks for taking the time to visit our fundraising page. 1 in 2 of us will be affected by cancer at some point in our lives and, due to the dedication of supporters and scientists, cancer survival in the last 50 years has doubled. But we need to go further and faster to enable Cancer Research UK to continue to make discoveries, drive progress, bring hope and help keep families together for longer. All funds raised will go directly to Cancer Research UK. We hope to help to keep families together for longer. Cancer is happening right now, which is why we’re fundraising right now for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose!
