My Story
As most of you already know by now, Dawn and I have both lost loved ones to and had loved ones affected by cancer. We always run in honour of Mum and Dawn’s Auntie Arlene. We try to do the race for life each year-last year we even finished twice due to a mistake with the distance!! 2020 is a year like no other. I lost my uncle Eddie to covid in the early days of the pandemic. We’ve gone from lockdown, to social distancing, ro being back teaching in masks and shields. It’s all a bit bonkers. But! We aren’t letting that stop us. We WILL be running the 5k as usual, just as everyone else, by ourselves. We understand that many of our friends are furloughed or made redundant and we recognise money is tight. However if you are lucky enough to still be in work and can spare £1 we’d be forever grateful. Cancer research has suffered due to the pandemic and we simply can’t let the amazing work they do be held back by all this. I’ll start the fundraising off!
