Shine London 2018 - Full Marathon
Sat 22 Sep 2018
I've taken a huge step and signed up to walk 26.2 miles....a marathon!! I can't run, believe me I've tried, but I have legs, and they work! They have carried me literally millions of miles so what's another 26!?!?! I have chosen to raise money for breast cancer, a disease that I watched my Mum bravely battle....and win, largely thanks to continued research and advances with medicine. In March this year I found a lump in my breast, I was absolutely terrified. Thankfully I was given the all clear in April and have never felt such a relief! Many women (and some men) aren't so lucky and are given devastating news every single day! What's the worst I'm going to feel after walking that far? Sore legs? A few blisters? I think it's the least I can do so that more people, even when given the heartbreaking news that they have cancer, are given hope that they can beat it!!! If I can lose a few lbs whilst raising £££'s then that's a bonus too, wish me luck ❤️
