My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm 'doing the double'. The Race for Life equivalent of a biathlon!! I will be completing the 5k Pretty Muddy course on Saturday, and then completing the 5k Race for Life course with Kara on the Sunday. For those who don't know why I started regularly taking part in Race for Life events, it started in 2008 because my Mum-in-Law had been diagnosed with breast cancer. When Kara was born she started participating too. In 2012 my Mum was also diagnosed with breast cancer. However, her cancer had already metastased to multiple organs around her body. Her cancer was incurable. She fought, bravely, for almost a year, but sadly the cancer was too advanced, and in November 2013 she died. Many of our friends and family have been touched by cancer. Some are bravely fighting. Some have survived. Many have not. Please join the fight by sponsoring me - it's quick, easy and totally secure. Events like this are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring us, we can unite and create an army that cancer can't ignore. By sponsoring us, we will beat cancer sooner. Don't forget to add Gift Aid. If you're a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the Gift Aid box as this will increase your donation by at least 25% at no extra cost to you. Sponsor us now, and help me show cancer that I'm not messing!!! Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK.
