My Story
Thank you for visiting my Cancer Research UK Cycle 300 page. This September, before the end of the month, I will complete 300 miles on my bike for Cancer Research UK. I will be pedalling harder than ever (I have been training hard!) because I want to raise money for life-saving research and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Every penny makes a huge difference to vital cancer research so please show your support with a donation to my page if you can. There is no target, we appreciate every single penny that may be donated. Thank you so much... ❤ Tracey, Joe & Grimbo ❤ Here is our story..... After months of various scans and biopsies across 4 different hospitals in Kent, then finally diagnosis we was given the devastating news at the end of April that dad has Adrenal Metastasis NSCLC.... Without getting too 'medical' and to simplify he has stage 4 lung cancer..... Intense chemotherapy commenced but sadly dad had severe side effects which meant treatment had to be stopped, recovery period has been slow and has badly took it's toll meaning his mobility has been severely affected, coinciding with all the emotional turmoil that comes with not only the shock of the diagnosis but dealing with everything that comes with it. A recent brain scan has confirmed the cancer has not spread to that area so we hope to see a reviewed chemotherapy/immunotherapy treatment being put into place again as soon as possible. We have had amazing support, from the CNS nurses, Pilgrims hospice, Macmillan, family, friends and neighbours of which has been invaluable ❤
